The DiscoveryFallen onto a heap The ground cracks, strange Interest beckons inspection Overtaken by childish minds Imagination suggests many odds Beasts, wizards and goblins What may lurk below Innocence contrasts with bravery But now merge, illustrating a child An unstoppable incentive Inventive of possibilities Mind wanders to create creatures Assuming the best Not suspecting the worst A child's infatuation controls his hand Removing the dead leaves and grass Exposing the underlying gate Anticipating his findThe Discovery


The Man AboveEnclosed within the earth Compacted and shielded from the sun Thrown into merciless confinement Awaiting my rescuer, patient A loud thud echoes throughout The man has cracked my sky Fragments of light peak through Rustling above, hide Frightened of the unknown The scalding sun shall burn me The containment is thrust open My frailties appear stricken Fears forefront any situation Submerged myself in darkness Awaiting the creature lurking above Scattered light becomes engorged As the veil is lifted, sky is shifted The light swallows the darkThe Man Above


The Infant ExplorerThe peddles spun, filled with grit His shoes, withered and frayed He was determined without reason He rode to ride, discover Innocent but experienced A dove smothered in dirt Ungoverned, tracking the landscape Searching for nothing But wishing for something An infant explorer Tethered in child's clothes With a loss of gadgets But wisdom he held In his back pocket In the worn tiresThe Infant Explorer


The Wheat CreatureSwallowed by the wheat Constricted feet, immobilized by the taught Plaintive cries, beckons for salvation She calls out in midway ingestion The relentless creature, shone lustrously Enveloping victims with golden jaws Marie, his sister, devoured Within the frame of wheat Michele apprehends salvation For his manliness is foreshadowed Attending to his sister, inclined She holds invisible wounds A tale told through scarsThe Wheat Creature
She sheds no tears As there is no pain She shows no fear As it was mere figment Within a child's mind
