The Discovery Fallen onto a heapThe Discovery by ~theinvertedclockwork
The ground cracks, strange
Interest beckons inspection
Overtaken by childish minds
Imagination suggests many odds
Beasts, wizards and goblins
What may lurk below
Innocence contrasts with bravery
But now merge, illustrating a child
An unstoppable incentive
Inventive of possibilities
Mind wanders to create creatures
Assuming the best
Not suspecting the worst
A child's infatuation controls his hand
Removing the dead leaves and grass
Exposing the underlying gate
Anticipating his find

The Man Above Enclosed within the earthThe Man Above by ~theinvertedclockwork
Compacted and shielded from the sun
Thrown into merciless confinement
Awaiting my rescuer, patient
A loud thud echoes throughout
The man has cracked my sky
Fragments of light peak through
Rustling above, hide
Frightened of the unknown
The scalding sun shall burn me
The containment is thrust open
My frailties appear stricken
Fears forefront any situation
Submerged myself in darkness
Awaiting the creature lurking above
Scattered light becomes engorged
As the veil is lifted, sky is shifted
The light swallows the dark

The Infant Explorer The peddles spun, filled with gritThe Infant Explorer by ~theinvertedclockwork
His shoes, withered and frayed
He was determined without reason
He rode to ride, discover
Innocent but experienced
A dove smothered in dirt
Ungoverned, tracking the landscape
Searching for nothing
But wishing for something
An infant explorer
Tethered in child's clothes
With a loss of gadgets
But wisdom he held
In his back pocket
In the worn tires

The Wheat Creature Swallowed by the wheatThe Wheat Creature by ~theinvertedclockwork
Constricted feet, immobilized by the taught
Plaintive cries, beckons for salvation
She calls out in midway ingestion
The relentless creature, shone lustrously
Enveloping victims with golden jaws
Marie, his sister, devoured
Within the frame of wheat
Michele apprehends salvation
For his manliness is foreshadowed
Attending to his sister, inclined
She holds invisible wounds
A tale told through scars
She sheds no tears
As there is no pain
She shows no fear
As it was mere figment
Within a child's mind
